I am deep at work ordering and revising my poetry for my upcoming show at #Counterpulse next Saturday night at the Weaving Spirits Festival of Two Spirit Performance. So many poems, so little time! I am fortunate in that the theatre has put me up in an artist’s apartment where I can work on my piece without interruption from friendly roommates. In between editing footage clips for my slide show, editing poetry, and hunting for props, I am calling on my ancestors to speak to me so I can make sure I am getting things right. As a medium I have been blessed to be in contact with my dead relatives from time to time. Most of the ancestors I talk about in my show died before I was born and some people ( including some of my family) are wondering how I know so much about them. I have been talking to the old people in my family my whole life and I have also been talking to the “dead” people. Nobody really dies so it’s just a matter of catching a spirittrain to the other side now and again to have a chat. #weavingspirits #twospirit

Had fun teaching medical intuition to a group of Bay Area women in Oakland today. Medical Intuition combines intuitive insight with medical and anatomical information in order to provide a client with answers about the nature and cause of their disease. A wide range of healing practitioners cameron the workshop today: acupuncturists, massage therapists, energy healers, herbalists and others. We talked about what medical intuition is, what it’s good for, and how it differs from other types of intuitive work. Then I discussed the Vest Protocol I developed for doing a medical intuitive scan. I answered questions and then put the students in pairs to do actual scans on each other. As usual, everyone was surprised by how accurate their readings were! I love when that happens. My guides told me long ago that if I would just teach that the right students would be led to me and that they would learn fast. And it’s true: my students learn fast! This is the only class I am teaching this month in the Bay. My upcoming show, (Re) Counting (Wo)man is taking up all my time this trip. But I will be back at the end of March to start my second cohort of Women of Color Medicine Apprentices and to run my cereclass. This year I will also be offering a number of intensive workshops like the one I taught today. Stay tuned for Akashic Records, Energy Healing, and Mediumship classes. Also my apprentices from the original cohort are doing exciting things. They are starting healing centers and herb shoppes and selling spiritual crafts. The work has begun! #medicalintuition #medicalintuitive #medicalintuitivecourses

Lucky me- I spent Valentine’s day at the beach with my sisterbrother Marlon. We listened to the waves and talked about twospiritedness, ancestors, Seminole history, and healing. He did most of the talking since I lost my voice in San Francisco( better than losing one’s heart!) It was good to listen. It was good to be with an old friend. We had an instant connection when we met ten years ago at a Two Spirit Gathering in Colorado. The older I get the more I have come to cherish people who get me whether or not I/we talk. Having a couple days of not working or talking has been good for me. Sometimes little sicknesses come along to knock us off our feet so we can take a break from the world and reset. I feel so grounded now. While lying in bed these last three days, I created a whole new movement for my one person show! And I got to binge watch the new WOC version of Charmed! LOL. Black, Latina, Queer, feminist witches? It doesn’t get better than that! Then too, the extra time little breaks afford always make for longer stronger meditations and better dream recall. I DO miss my hiking however. Training for the #Camino has been so much fun. But even training benefits from breaks. And anything that gets me to the beach is a good thing! So thank you to Marlon for visiting. I always take my guests to the beach because that really is the whole point of LA as far as I am concerned. I am always a better person after I spend some time at the beach. I think everyone is. When is the last time you went to the beach?
